The impact in Roanoke Rapids: NC’s failure to expand Medicaid

Low-income people unable to get care plus layoffs at Halifax Regional Medical Center. NC Governor McCrory and the General Assembly create big problems for folks in Halifax County and the surrounding area. The Roanaoke Rapids Daily Herald has the details:

“Some state and national politicians may find value in implementing only half of the ACA,” [Halifax Regional Medical Center CEO] Mahone said.

“But lack responsibility for the unintended consequences.”
