The gun madness continues

Gun terror [1]Another day, another tragic school shooting in Nevada [2]. Another weekend, another toddler dead from an accidental shooting in Fayetteville [3].

It’s become so common place that most of us can scarcely be bothered to read past the headlines.

Meanwhile, the troubled souls in the gun lobby would have us believe that: a) this kind of terror just comes with a “free” society and/or b) the solution is to spread still more guns in more places — even public playgrounds [4].

But, of course, this madness has simply got to stop at some point. If Americans can be asked to sacrifice trillions of dollars in treasure and goodly parts of their privacy to unconstitutional government spying in the name of the “war on terror,” the least we can do is endure a slightly higher level of bureacracy when it come to dispensing the tools of our domestic terror state — especially since they kill and terrorize exponentially more people every day in this country than Al Quada and its ilk ever did or, in all likelihood, ever will. At some point, you’ve got to think that people will say “enough is enough.”

Maybe it will even start tomorrow. Tomorrow evening, citizens of the Raleigh suburb of Morrisville will have a chance to speak out against gun terror and its expansion into public playgrounds. Click here [4] and here [5] for more information.
