Despite the forecast of gray winter skies and perhaps some spotty rain, Saturday’s Moral March on Raleigh is looking increasingly as if it will be the biggest one yet. March organizers report that:
- several thousand people have already committed to attending on several different websites and Facebook pages — far more than 2013;
- the number of buses and large vans already reserved for Saturday is nearly three times the number reserved last year; and
- groups and individuals from at least 57 North Carolina counties and several different states have already committed to attending.
While the majority of marchers for the February HKonJ/Moral March event have always come from central North Carolina, these unprecedented RSVP numbers from such a wide array of locations are seen as a strong indication that event attendance could conceivably approach the once seemingly outlandish goal of 25,000.
Of course, even half that number would be a remarkable accomplishment. Stay tuned. We’ll have extensive coverage of the march on the main website, here on the Pulse and on our various Twitter feeds in the days to come.
